Serco buys BPO company Intelenet

In a $ 632 Million deal, the UK based company Serco has bought the Indian BPO firm Intelenet for Rs. 2,772 crores, making it the larget acquisition in the BPO space.

In April this year Genpact bought Headstrong for $550 Million and was the largest BPO deal before this.  The valuation paid for the acquisition is on the higher side at around 12 times EBIDTA for March 2011.

Intelenet was being majorly held by Blackstone group, Barclays, HDFC and Intelenet's management.
